ARRIVED AT:  Salton Sea, CALIFORNIA, a sea that evaporated & become very toxic.

CHALLENGE:  Raid a tent village down the road for your food supplies & equipment.  Create a restaurant quality entree.  Find your food that outlast the apocalypse.  Ingredients include:  Duck Preserved, Canned Sardines, Pickled Beef Tongue & Spam.  Must build their own Cooking Device in 60 minutes.

THE DECISION:

WORST:  Chef Lance

WINNER:  Chef Scott - will pick someone to go against Lance in Next Challenge.

NEXT DAY:    The  Showdown

                      Lance vs. Viet.

- one bite on a silver spoon.  Food that is thrown away.  Scraps are buried in a root cellar in 20 minutes.

THE DECISION:

   WINNER IS: Viet.

ELIMINATED:  Lance.

EPISODE #2:  Coast Guard Cook-Off.                                                              6 Left.

START OFF:  The Chefs Racing Across the Water on Coast Guard Boat.

ARRIVED AT:  Port of Los Angenes, CA.

EXPRESS CHALLENGE:  Create a dish using military M.R.E. along with Fresh seafood trapped in baskets off the edge of the dock. in 20 minutes.

                         WINNER:  Chef Izzy - has an advantage.

EXTRME CHALLENGE:  Working in Teams.

- Izzy get to pick the teams.  Izzy/Terry,    Viet/Tiffany   and Susanne/Scott.

- Create a Cohesive appetizer & entree from the ingredients that are floating offshore.

- Viet/Tiffany - get John Dory Fish,

- Izzy/Terry get Monkfish,

- Susane/Scott get Black Cod & the few ingredients since they were last to the boat.

RESULTS:

- LOST:  Scott & Susanne.

     LOSER:  Susanne.

- WINNERS:  Terry & Izzy  - have one 1 hour to make decision whom will go against her in Showdown.

- 1 Bite on a silver spoon. Using Halibut & cooking on the boat in tight quarter in 20 minutes. 

             WINNER:  Tiffany.

ELIMINATED:  Susanne.

EPISODE #3:  Dessert Survival.                                                             5 Left.

START OFF:  Arrival :  In the Desert.

EXPRESS CHALLENGE:  Cooking Fresh Cactus Dish where located 100 yards away are the limited indigenous ingredients located in a crate in 20 minutes.

GUEST JUDGE:  Graywolf, Yoeme Indian Tribe.

                    WINNER:  Viet - won an advantage.

EXTREME CHALLENGE:  1/2 mile toward the mountain is a traditional Native American Village.  Create a gourmet Entree using the tools & ingreients found in the village which include:  3 Whole Rabbits, 1 Rack of Elk, and 1 Leg of Boar.  Must build a Fire Pit.  in 60 minutes.

VIET'S ADVANTAGE:  is he getting a Blade while the other had to make theirs.

THE TASTING & RESULTS:

  - LOSER:  Scott.

  - WINNER:  Terry - Will now have to pick someone to go against Scott.

  - Terry picked Viet.

   

                                 THE SHOWDOWN

                             Viet vs. Scott.

- One Bite on Silver Spoon using indigenous desert ingredients found over the ridge:  Trout, Sage, Dates & Yucca.  Only heating source is Hot Rocks in 20 minutes.

  - WINNER:  Viet.

ELIMINATED:  Scott.

EPISODE #4:  Off to Thailand.                                                                     4 Left.

START OFF:  The Final Four:  Terry, Tiffany, Izzy & Viet.

ARRIVED AT:  Bangkok, Thailand.

Then taken to the world  famous Floating Market Damnoen Saduak.

EXTREME CHALLENGE:  Hop in a long boat & source ingredients from the market.  Create a gourmet entree that represnets their style as of a chef.  Given ONLY 400 Bahts which is $13.00.  Then continue down the river to the host where the cooking stage is.  Each bat contain different heating source which get them started on cooking on the boat    60 minutes

- Viet leaves  half of his stuff in the boat.

JUDGES:  Simon Mojumdar,

                  Nok Chalida, former Miss Thailand.

TWIST:  A Jackfruit - must use it.

- It started raining.

THE DECISION:

  - LOSER:  Tiffany - was too simple.

  - WINNER:  Viet in the Finals.

Viet get to pick who willgo against Tiffany.  He picked Izzy.

                                   THE FINAL SHOWDOWN

                              Tiffany vs. Izzy.

- ARRIVED AT:  A Traditional Thai Cocnut Plantation.

- 1 Bite on a spoon.  Cooking with indigenous Thai ingredients - some on the farm - Coconut, which they had crossed a creek to a bamboo ladder.  20 minutes.

THE DECISION:

  - WINNER:  Tiffany.

ELIMINATED:  Izzy.

EPISODE #5:  The $50,000 Bite.                                                                       3  Left.

START OFF:  In Thailand arriving by elephants to a bend in the river where 3 tables are set -up & Marsh was there.

ARRIVED AT:  Jungles of Northern Thailand.

FINAL EXPRESS CHALLENGE:  The winner will by pass the Extreme Challenge & go into the Showdown.  Create restaurant quailty dish using wild jungle ingredients that was found in the area.  Will be cooking in the river.  20 minutes.

JUDGE:  Simon Majumdar.

- Terry loses his basket of food floating down the river.

THE DECISION:

  WINNER:  Viet - go immediately to the Showdown.

- They hopped on water raft & meet Marsh down the river to the Extreme Challenge.

ARRIVED AT:  A Village - Kren Hill Tribe.

EXTREME CHALLENGE:  Create a meal comprised of 3 dishes that work together.  Given a whole pig.  Winner goes to the Showdown to battle against Viet.

  WINNER:  Terry.

ELIMINATED:  Tiffany.

ARRIVED AT:  Steps of the Wat Phra That Doi Noi Temple.

- 1 bite on a spoon.  Reflects the 4 flavors profiles, race up the 274 steps to top of the temple, along the way stopping at 4 stations getting ingredients, if you picked them must uuse them.  Ingredients:  Black Chicken.

             THE WINNER IS:     TERRY!
